Sound Forge Audio Studio 9 has met my expectations. I had about 9 years old version of Soundforge and this one has kept all the good features of the old one. Converting Vinyl Records into digital files works well. Editing these files is little bit more difficult than the old version. I recommend this product. -- It works as advertised
I purchased this Sony product based on reviews I read on line. According to the reviews, this was supposedly the best product to remove vocals. I saw a couple of advertisments for other products costing $25.00 to $30.00...not sure what to purchase,I trusted the Sony name and purchased the Sound Forge Audio Studio 9. I was looking for a product to remove vocals from cds so I could use the back ground music....as Sony advertised this product would do. I have tried removing vocals from three different cds, one was a recording made in 1999, one from the 60's and one from a recent recording somewhere around 2007. In each case you could hear the vocals in the back ground (very low) plus the program removed some of the music. Plus now the music sounds distant...not exactly what I was hoping for. I also found out I could do a lot more with this program than just remove vocals. I can download a song and change the pitch, change the tempo, add and remove different sections called looping and much more...so I've read. The problem I have and this is not written in Sony's advertisement,for a first time user, like myself, there are no instructions for help. You're totally on your own. Oh, there's help but you have to purchase a "Help" program from Sony from approximately $30.00 to $130.00 depending on the program..I guess. I didn't purchase the help program so I don't know how much my help program would cost...I'm learning by trial and error. And it's very frustrating!! I paid twice what the other programs cost and if I had purchased their help package, it would have driven the cost up to around $100.00 or more. There again, it depends on what product you purchase....I was very upset with the "oh didn't we tell you" if you need help it'll cost you more! Hidden technics such as this will only drive me away from purchasing additioinal products from Sony...can't trust their advertising! I'm hoping someday I'll figure out other things I can do with this product. It didn't do what I purchased it for! Perhaps I should have trusted the one guy who said "There's nothing out there to totally remove vocals from a cd"! My bad! -- Just OK!
I've had the previous soundforge audios, which I loved! This upgrade was worth the price! totally enjoyed it! Very happy with the vender and product! -- Better than before
I like the software. Does what it advertise it would do. I have not had any problems. -- Like it!
