I have to admit, I was slightly hesitant about buying this program. I needed a less expensive alternative to Adobe InDesign and I was hoping this product fit the bill. I was put somewhat at ease by the other customer reviews, but I was also a little afraid that their recommendations were slightly biased. I wondered, could this program put out professional documents?

I can tell you, yes it can. I am a graphic design student and am required to work with Adobe products. I needed a product that was not as expensive as InDesign but could still give professional results.

Keep in mind, this is not Adobe InDesign. You wont find the higher end tools that you get in InDesign, but to be perfectly honest, you probably wont even need them. Even so, I could not believe all that this product offers. What I received far outweighed my expectations. I have had this product for only a short time, but I can confidently say that this is a good product, well designed, easy to use, and very professional.

I am very, very impressed with this product. It is well worth what I spent on it. If you buy this, I can just about guarantee that you will not be dissapointed. -- Impressed.

for what it cost, it was a good buy. I have already made a booklet for our art business. and hangtags. It is very easy use. Love the click and fill method, that even I not a "computer smart" person can use it. It works just as good as the expensive software. -- Love it and easy to use

This is a great program for creating quick and professional looking brochures, advertisements etc. It does exactly what it advertises to do and is easy to learn. I espescially enjoyed the tutorials, after going through just a few tutorials everything made sense and I was comfortable with the program. Great Product! -- Page Plus Publisher X3 Professional

If you are tired of using MS Publisher with all its limitations this is a wonderful alternative. I purchased this program because I wanted to be able to print full sheet flyers; not flyers with a 1/4 inch border that Publisher forces. With that in mind, I was not expecting much from this software, but it has been one of the best software purchases I have made.

I have used this thing to produce top quality publications: flyers, posters, brochures (double-sided tri-fold), photobooks, bulletins, memorials...etc. All of this as a non-graphic artist.

The winner for me is the ease of use. Yes, if you are used to Quark or Publisher, then you will have some difficulties getting use to PagePlus. Personally, I think this is because those programs (Publisher especially) is not all that intuitive or easy to use...so making the adjustment to PagePlus takes some time to get use to. With in minutes of installing the program I was able to produce a flyer that others thought had made by a graphic designer.

There is very little this program can not do. Save your money, skip publisher and get PagePlus.

I want to comment on some of the other reviews:

-Someone said they could not do a double-sided tri-fold brochure...I am not sure why. I have been able to do about a dozen different ones.

-Someone else said they could not choose a color. Again I am not sure why. I was able to match the color of the logo for the company I work for without problem. Using the "eye dropper" is somewhat unusual if you have been using Publisher, but once you get use to it...you see how intuitive it really is.

-Someone else said about the Logo Studio, or the Cutout Studio, or the photo editor that are included in the software...these aren't completely worthless, but pretty close. One can easily tell that Serif did not spend as much time developing these auxiliary functions like they did PagePlus. That being said, these are auxiliary programs. If you NEED these functions then you NEED to get another program that can do them better and then just import. I use ProPhoto X2 (another Serif program) for these functions if I need them. With all the publications I have made with this program, only one time have I needed to use ProPhoto for something I could not do in PagePlus.

Overall, this is an OUTSTANDING program with an OUTSTANDING price. At the moment of the review it is only $39 and that is what I bought it at over a year ago. If it's anymore than that wait...it will go on sale again. Two last points, this program is licensed for multiple computers (I have it on my work computer and my home computer) this is a big plus. Also, I have found the customer service for Serif to be fantastic. Even though it is a British company, they have a toll free number for any help you may need.

I couldn't wait to get this and download it. Boy how easy can it be to use. I love it. I have already created 6 pages of our catalog. We have a fine art craft business and so wanted to create a catalog of our work. This software was so easy to use. I haven't even use the instructions. The "new publication" document was easier to use than the templates itself. Can't wait to use the rest of the document creations it offers. Would recommend it to my friends and co artists. -- Love it and easy to use
