I have my own side business and needed to create a logo. Didn't have the money to have it professionally done, so I found this software and gave it a try. It took me a day or so to get the hang of it, but I ended up creating a logo I really like, and one that I think looks professional. Not sure about the problems others were having with this software, but I have no problem creating logos with a transparent background (you just need to export it as a transparent PNG or GIF). The legal website that is shown in the program is meant to be a resource to help direct people to an affordable trademark alternative if you are even interested in this.
